Recovery

Best for

Severe anxiety, wisdom teeth, implants, full mouth work

Your appointment, start to finish

Nothing about the day should be a surprise.

  1. The night before

    Stop eating at midnight

No food or drink for 6 hours before your appointment — a hard safety rule for deep sedation. Bring a driver and wear something comfortable.

  2. Minute 0

    Arrive & get settled

Health history review, vitals, and a small IV placed in your arm by our CRNA. No rushing — questions answered until you feel ready.

  3. Minute 2

    You drift off

The medication starts working within about a minute. From here you have no awareness and no memory of the procedure.

  4. During

    Two providers, two jobs

Dr. Palmquist focuses entirely on your dentistry while the CRNA watches your airway, heart rhythm, blood pressure, and oxygen continuously.

  5. +30 – 60 min

    Wake up, walk out

You come around gradually in the chair. Once you're steady, your driver takes you home with a written recovery plan.

  6. Next morning

    Back to normal

Grogginess fades over the rest of the day. Most patients feel like themselves by the following morning.

The safety difference

A CRNA whose only job is you.

Most dental offices ask the dentist to sedate and treat at the same time. We don't. Our in-house CRNA stays at your side for the entire procedure — the same staffing model used in hospital operating rooms, without the hospital bill.

  • Administered by a dedicated, in-house CRNA — not the dentist
  • Continuous vital-sign monitoring for the entire procedure
  • Perfect for anxiety, long visits, and full mouth work
  • No hospital, no referral, no extra facility fee

Sedation questions

Straight answers.

Very. We separate the roles of dentist and anesthesia provider — a dedicated in-house CRNA monitors your vitals and airway continuously while Dr. Palmquist focuses only on the dentistry. This is the same staffing model used in hospital surgery.

With true IV sedation, yes. You'll drift off within a minute or two and have no memory of the procedure. You wake up feeling like it never happened.

Yes. Anyone receiving IV or oral sedation needs a responsible adult to drive them home and stay with them for a few hours.

Most patients are alert enough to walk out within 30 – 60 minutes. Grogginess wears off over the rest of the day; most people are back to normal by the next morning.
