Bone preserved

Gentle technique that protects the socket for future implants.

Asleep if you want

In-house CRNA for true IV sedation.

Choose your comfort level

Four ways to get through it — pick one and compare.

IV sedation

Asleep, monitored, and finished in one visit

Our in-house CRNA places an IV and you drift off in about a minute. Every extraction happens while you sleep, with continuous monitoring of your heart, breathing, and oxygen.

A good fit when

  • Severe dental fear
  • Multiple or surgical extractions
  • Full-mouth clearance

Getting home

Driver required

Ask which one fits me

Does it need to come out?

Six reasons we recommend removal.

We save teeth whenever saving them actually works. When it doesn't, delaying only costs you bone.

Cracked below the gumline

A crown can't grab what isn't there. Removing it protects the bone around it.

Infection that keeps returning

Repeat abscesses on a treated tooth usually mean the tooth itself has to go.

Advanced gum disease

When support bone is gone, the tooth is loose and taking neighbors down with it.

Decay past repair

Too little healthy structure left to hold a filling or a crown.

Crowding before orthodontics

Planned removals to create room for teeth to move into place.

Prepping for implants

Bone-preserving removal now makes implant placement simpler later.

Extraction day

Day of surgery

A clot forms in the socket — that clot is the whole ballgame. Bite gentle pressure on gauze, keep your head slightly elevated, and let yourself do nothing.

Do this

  • Rest with your head up
  • Cold pack 20 min on, 20 off
  • Soft, cool foods only

Skip this

  • No straws, no smoking
  • No rinsing or spitting
  • No hot drinks

How we do it

Removing a tooth well is mostly about what's left behind.

Bone-preserving technique

We section and lift teeth out rather than forcing them, protecting the socket walls you'll need later.

Grafting when it matters

If an implant is in your future, a socket graft at the same visit keeps the ridge from collapsing.

Sedation under one roof

No referral to an oral surgeon in another town — the CRNA and the surgery happen here.

A real recovery plan

Written instructions, medications in hand, a next-day check-in, and our direct line.

Included with every extraction

  • Single-tooth to full-mouth extractions
  • IV sedation or local anesthetic — your choice
  • Bone-preserving surgical technique
  • Written home-care and pain-management plan

Extraction questions

Straight answers.

Very. We separate the roles of dentist and anesthesia provider — a dedicated in-house CRNA monitors your vitals and airway continuously while Dr. Palmquist focuses only on the dentistry. This is the same staffing model used in hospital surgery.

With true IV sedation, yes. You'll drift off within a minute or two and have no memory of the procedure. You wake up feeling like it never happened.

Yes. Anyone receiving IV or oral sedation needs a responsible adult to drive them home and stay with them for a few hours.

Most patients are alert enough to walk out within 30 – 60 minutes. Grogginess wears off over the rest of the day; most people are back to normal by the next morning.

We accept most major PPO dental insurance plans and file the claim for you. Bring your card to your first visit or call ahead and we'll verify benefits.

Sedation is priced by procedure length. Because we keep the CRNA in-house we're able to offer sedation for a fraction of what a hospital oral surgery visit costs. We'll give you a written estimate at your consult.
